Art Exhibition

Good evening all,

Actually it is 11 pm here and I am about ready to go to bed. I just thought I would share with you some pics from the Art Exhibition that is open to the public from today Nov 20th through Jan 5th, 2010. I belong to the Ajijic Society of the Artists and I have a piece of my work also shown there.

My hubbie took pics so I will share a few with you. There is one of me, (yuk, can't stand the look on my face), one of the piece I submitted, and one of the Mariaches that performed for us. It was alot of fun and quite the success!

Have a good night of rest and God Bless!!

Anniversary Card

Good Afternoon all

Well I had a show yesterday at the plaza in Ajijic. Lots of fun and I even tried my hand at flying (not really) I left my table long enought to go to the restroom and on my way back was looking at my space to see if anyone was there and and totally missed the stairs I was suppose to walk down and walked out into the air! Ouch!! That fall really hurt and is continuing to hurt today. I am bruised up but Praise God nothing broken. I was very embrassed and blamed it on a photographer friend of mine telling him I was lookng at him. He said "Yea, alot of women fall for me!" He really is a cutie .

I am posting an Anniversary card today that I really agonized over as it was special ordered and had the theme of diamonds. The couple it was for has a rock garden so you will see how the sentiment ties in with that. The person who ordered it really loved it so I was glad that I was able to bring a smile to her face and she told me her aunt and uncle will love it. Hope you like it as well. The rock stamp I used, I stamped twice with charcoal Versmark ink and then heat embossed with clear embossing powder. I then cut them both out and colored in the blue for the water with my Prismacolor pencils. I then layered them and dotted them with nail jewelry, for the "diamonds". Hope you like the card.

God Bless and have a great day!

Pictures

Hi Eveyone,

I decided to post a couple pictures today. Last week sure was a busy one. My friend, Anne was here from the US. We had a great time together as we had not seen each other in approx. 8 years. Lots of catching up to do and pics to see of grandchildren and such. I am posting one of my pictures taken with her at a Malecon in a small town not far from us.

The second picture is of me at the Maestros de Arte show that is going on this weekend here in Chapala at the Yaucht Club. The artists are from all over Mexico and have some wonderful one of a kind items to sell. Everything from pottery to weaving to the little corn husk dolls that I love. The woman in the picture with me is the woman who weaved the shawl that I have on. It sure was beautiful and she was a sweetheart also. Hope you enjoy the pictures. I have been busy making cards as I have an art show tomorrow so I need to bake some dog cookies to sell. I sold out of the dog treats at the show last weekend.

Hope you are enjoying the fall weather and are all in good health. God Bless!

Magnet Personalities

Good Morning All,

Well I hope you all remembered to set your clocks back an hour last night. We did our's here in Mexico last weekend. Did everyone have a good Halloween? We had about 7 Trick or Treaters. I think the kids are just starting to do Halloween here. They all looked so cute! Tomorrow is the celebration of Day of the Dead, where everyone celebrates the lives of those who have died. We cannot even get up our street as the cemetary is on this street and there are vendors in the street selling flowers, wreaths, food. It is quite a sight.

My friend Anne arrives tomorrow from the States. I am so excited as she is really the first company we have had since moving here. I have her room all ready and cannot wait to get to the airport to get her. It has been approx. 8 years since we last saw each other. Fun times!!

Today I am posting some magnets that I have made. These were all digi stamps that I printed from the computer, colored and cut out. I then ran them through my Xyron laminator/magnet cartridge and I have really cute magnets. Since I believe that I can send these through the mail I may send a few for Christmas. They were really fun to make and as long as the cartridge lasts I will make some more.

Well have a blessed day and for my hubbie I will say GO DOLPHINS!!

Merry Christmas

Good Afternoon,

Well, all week I have been messed up due to the time change! We are 2 hours behind EST in the States. All our shows are 2 hours ahead of the time we are use to as we are usually central time. Here in Mexico we changed our clocks back last weekend so for one week I am so messed up!!

I have been working on Christmas cards as I have a show on Nov. 7th and my friend Anne, from the States will be here so I don't want to have to do alot of card making as I want to be able to take her places and spend time with her. I have approx 51 cards made so far and need to make about 25-50 more. Wish me luck in getting that accomplished!!

The card I am featuring today is the little Chinese/Japanese girl as a Christmas Card. Her robe is colored with red prisma markers and her flowers are in red and orange, colored with my favorite gel glitter pens. She has a red skittle in her hair ornamant. The Merry Christmas is stamped in red ink and as you can see she is mounted with foam tape on green cardstock. I think she is a cutie and I believe that she is the very last girl I will post. (I think you all must be tired of seeing her to tell you the truth)

Great news!! I am going to be able to go and see my new granddaughter after she is born!! I got a great deal at CheapTickets.com and was able to fly from here to Miami for less that $400.00! My sweet daughter is helping me with the price of the ticket and I am so excited as I will be able to hold my little granddaughter abotu 2 weeks after she is born. I think they have setteled on the name Emalee Grace. My daughter likes to spell things different as her name is totally different, MariKristy Noel. Now how is that for a made up name? I think she gets it from her mom. When she was born I wanted to name her after her father's grandmother Mary. But her father and I had discussed naming her Kristina Noel, well I wouldn't give up the Mary and he wouldn't give up the Kristy so we combined them. My oldest daughter is named after my grandmother, Rachel, and her middle name is Lin which her father wanted to spell. So I guess Mari gets the idea from both parents!

Anyway hope you like the card. May God Bless you REAL GOOD!! He sure has blessed me!!

The last 2 china gil cards

This is going to be a real quick post. As I said I would post my last 2 china girl cards. One has some pattern paper on top of yellow cardstock. The other is layered with pattern paper on top of lavender cardstock I added some prisma flowers on that one. The girls are all colored with my Prisma Markers (I just love using them) and of course my gel glitter pens and clear embossing powder. All the girls have colored skittles in their hair ornaments (thanks Karel). Hope you like them

Have a blessed evening.

Thankfulness

Good Afternoon,

Well, it has been a pretty busy day today. Skyped with my friend in Florida for a while. Then straighted up the house, have been doing laundry (I don't know how 2 people can get so much dirty laundry)! I then swept the front terrace and did the dishes (they multiply just like the laundry).

The cards I am posting today are made using stamps from Cow Town Stamps. I love them and the song Thankfulness keeps running through my head. Both cards I layered the cardstock and then stamped the image on cardstock and heat embossed iwth clear embossing powder. I then painted in the colors with watercolor paints and in the man's card I used some watercolor pearlized paints from Sparkle and Sprinkle Stamp Company. The man pilgrim card I used brads in the four corners, and added ribbon on the woman's card, I also crimped some pattern paper from Papertrey Ink (it was a gift to me) on the bottom under the stamped image .

I am just so thankful for all the friends I have made by doing this blog and on Rubber Stamp Chat .
Thankfulness, Thankfulness, Thankfulness, is what I long for. Thankfulness is all I need. Thankfulness is what You want from me. God wants us all to be thankful. But to make sure we Thank Him for all He has done for us.
Have a Blessed day!
